Comment Spam

I registered my site with technorati, then started getting boatloads of comment spam.

Movable Type peeps have thoughtfully coded some plug-ins to help with that, but the simplest of all for me to do was to remove one line of code from the blogware template for submitting comments:

You now have to preview your comment before you can submit it. The 'bots that use the comment 'ware are not usually coded to perform both those steps.

At least, that's the theory. So this morning I had only one or two legitimate comments, rather than 40 or so spam ones with one or two legitimate ones.

If the spam manages to work around that, then I'll try to figure out the security code plug-in and get that installed, next.
