Wot a weenie! I've been leaning toward McCain as a voice (at last!) of balance and tolerance who actually can capture the views of the real America.
Potential presidential candidate John McCain says he longer considers evangelist Jerry Falwell to be one of the "agents of intolerance" that he criticized during a previous White House run. [...] "We agreed to disagree on certain issues, and we agreed to move forward," McCain said Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." -- McCain Softens Language on Jerry Falwell
Yah. Well, John, babe, you were right back when you said,
"Neither party should be defined by pandering to the outer reaches of American politics and the agents of intolerance, whether they be Louis Farrakhan or Al Sharpton on the left or Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell on the right."
So unless you can point to something Falwell has actively done that has caused him to flip flop, then you, Johnny boy, are a moral coward.
So does that mean he truly does capture the voice and views of America?

Bleh, I hate them all. Probably will vote for Hillary if she goes for it.
Both men are completely hopeless. No one should take either one of them seriously, either about religion or politics.
Does Jerry Falwell even have so much pull these days that anyone feels a need to pander to him?
So you mean to say that America is a country of moral cowards, if I am reading right? Please correct me if I am not. You may be right, but McCain sure as shit is NOT my voice, any more than is Jerry Falwell or Louis Farrakhan. Famous extremists, famous only for being extremist, not for making any great social change for the good. In short, self-serving political pricks.
Hillary is a throw-away vote. This country is no more ready for a woman president than a black or a Jew. I would vote for her if I thought she had a real shot at winning.
With the Republican nomination for the 2008 presidental election up for grabs, McCain "capture[s] the voice and views" of whatever group he's pandering to at the moment.
If the choice is between McCain or Hillary-or-Gore-or-Kerry, not that I want to but I'd have to vote for McCain.
What I AM hoping is that the two dominent parties nominate someone worth a hoot and IMHO, none of the above are.
no more ready for a woman president than a black
Condi Rice is a football fan (essential for American politics) and her politics are more or less right (taking into account being polluted by her White House stint) and I would be proud to vote for her if she made it so far. If we're not ready for her only because she's a woman and/or black and for no other reason then, well, uh, fuck.
I think you misunderstand, Don. I didn't say I wasn't ready for a woman, a black, or a Jew, I said the country. You really think the majority of the voting populace thinks as yuou and I? If that were the case, we wouldn't have complete fucktards like Kerry and Dubya to choose from.
So yeah, um fuck is right, as in we ARE fucked. Again and again.
