ABC Skewed Schedule?

Poasted by gekko at 8:54 PM and filed under "Eclectique"

I never used to watch much television, however last Fall I started getting hooked on a variety of television shows and, once hooked, the habit grew. I've added shows to my list of "must watch."

I record them on a DVR and watch them later, skipping past the commercials.

This works great for the shows I watch that are on CBS, NBC, USA, etc.

For shows on ABC, however, I'm getting screwed out of the endings.

Every episode of Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice has had some crucial bit of personal dialogue going on when my recording stopped, leaving me hanging.

My clock is correct. All other programs start and stop correctly. Just the ones on ABC do not.

A friend mentioned that he lost the end of Women's Murder Club -- guess which network that one's on?

Anyone else notice this? Anyone know why this is the case?

Why yes, it's quite simple - ABC hates your guts.

Happy to help!

I've encountered the same issue, so now every time I set a DVR recording, I set it to begin 3 minutes early and end 3 minutes late. That always seems to cover the spillover.

Well, Jefe, m'fine greasy-looking man, that's the thing.

I can do that. I can manually go in and select a channel and the start time and the end time just as you say, for each of the programs I want to record on ABC. It's more troublesome to do it like that than to just use the search function, let the DVR software locate the program and set it up for me, but I can do that. Except ... what do I do when I want to record back-to-back programs that are on different networks? That there's my problem, see.

Can't I just pull together a small team of commandos and punish the ABC head honchos? It'd be MUCH simpler and probably more satisfying.

I don't have a DVR and I probably wouldn't know how to use it if I did. Hell, I don't even know how to use the camera on my cell phone.

So I just don't have any comment on this post.
