Wii Update

| |  Yayy, somebody lurves me!

I got this thing so I would have a fun, interesting way to exercise. I don't jog; going to the gym is fine, but can be tedious; walkies are great, but when the weather sucks I find it easy to not go out. Et cetera.

I discovered that I am not alone in my Wii-ness. According to CNet, the Wii is schooling game consoles sold by Microsoft and Sony. Nintendo, the company that first leveraged the home console video gaming market Magnavox and Atari mastered thus injecting new life into what had been a dying industry, reigns supreme.

According to a release sent out by the online retail giant Friday, the Nintendo Wii and all its accessories dominated video game sales during the holiday shopping rush and not one mention was made of Sony's Playstation 3 or Microsoft's Xbox 360.

"Nintendo Wii dominated the top sellers in video games and hardware, including the Wii console, the Wii remote controller and the Wii nunchuk controller," the release reports.

I was clever and crafty. I bought the Wii console before Christmas so I could put games and accessories for it on my Christmas list. Rechargeable batteries, spare controllers, and the game Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Dance Party 2 made their ways to spots beneath my tree this year.

Yay!

So who needs a stinky old PS3 with Blu-Ray© anyway?

Just random odd thoughts. Don't mind me. Go on about your business. Thx.

  • firesm.jpgIf you have a handful of vitamins 'n stuff to take in the morning, do not take them along with the very first swallow of a freshly brewed cuppa hot coffee.
  • If you cut red meat and dairy from your diet one day a week, sez a study from Carnegie Mellon university, (link leads to Science Friday -- grab the podcast and have a listen) you'd be helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions. If everyone in the US did this, then the reduction would be far more significant than the reductions realized by the "eat locally" movement. So maybe the Catholic Friday Fish Fry whoozit was ahead of its time?
  • Ms. Clinton should remain in the race for as long as she can. That way she can earn "delegate points" for sale or trade later. Won't matter. The dead guy from Arizona's probably going to win the White House. Anyone else as apathetic as I am about all the candidates?
  • It's graduation time. My neighbors have kids that are all graduating from college or high school and they're each having separate parties. That makes for plenty of games of beer pong, which would be great if only I could stomach beer. "Sapphire and Tonic Pong" just doesn't have the right ring to it, either, dammit. Anyway, high school/college grad makes sense. Some friends' are expected at their granddaughter's eighth grade grad. If that's not way iffy, a cow-orker's headed for his daughter's sixth grade graduation -- sixth grade "graduation" is not a new concept. At least we don't have Prom for first graders. Yet.
  • This is not Murphy, but could be my rascally pup if I had a pool slide I left running all day:

I'm not easily grossed out by stuff, and I am certainly not a compulsive clean freak. You won't see me carrying packets of wipes or little bottles of hand sanitizer.

The video below, however, got my attention.

Yeah, I'll be carrying my own glassware from now on, thanks.

A friend pointed me at this link. Clever, fun. Reminds me of my son's high school choir.
